Chandra was born and raised in the Akron area and has been a resident of Akron proper for the past 6 years. Upon graduating from Cuyahoga Falls High School Chandra spent the next several years at the University of Indianapolis. It was during her time in the fiercely red state of Indiana that Chandra became an outspoken advocate of the Democratic ideals upon which she was raised. Chandra returned to the Akron-area to attend law school before instead opting to earn her Master of Public Administration, where she met Kyle.As a full-time case manager for a local non-profit, Chandra spends her days trying to help individuals achieve self-sufficiency. She sits on the board of Arts Appreciative, is the Treasurer of the Akron Urban League’s Young Professionals and is a member of Child Family Leadership Exchange class XIII. She proudly wears her heart on her sleeve and the badge of feminist on her chest and is a strange dichotomy of shy and outspoken. Political issues of primary concern to Chandra include the environment, women’s rights, health care, minority and civil rights, and humanitarian concerns. She is taking time off from earning additional degrees in order to plan her October 2008 wedding. She and her fiancé reside in North Hill where they are owned by their two cats and a dog.
